Sweet Vintage Miniature Onbu Kokeshi Doll - Mother Carrying Baby!
Adorable 3.5" tall wooden Kokeshi in the traditional Onbu (mother carrying baby on back) style. This little mother is hand-painted wearing a red kimono with cream floral pattern, large dotted bow obi, black hair with red dotted cap, and white headscarf with blue dots. Tiny baby with black hair peeks over her shoulder.
This is the charming bobblehead type - the oversized head is on a small wooden peg and wobbles / bobbles.
A wonderful little folk art piece for your Kokeshi collection, Japanese decor, or miniature doll display.

This is a vintage estate find being sold As-Is, As-Found.
Expected vintage wear throughout:
• Paint chipping / flaking and loss - most noticeable on the white headscarf area, sides of head, and black cap.
• Paint crazing / crackle and light scuffing to kimono and face
• Wood grain showing through with age
• Surface wear and age spots
No cracks to wood that I can see. Head still bobbles freely on peg. Baby is firmly attached. Bottom is unmarked. No repairs.
The flaws are part of its vintage charm, but please examine all photos closely as they are part of the description.
